Biography

Beklan Murat (b. 1991, Istanbul) is a Turkish artist whose creative journey began in childhood and spans a total of 30 years of experience, including 15 years of amateur dedication and 15 years of professional practice. He specializes in tattoo art, illustration, and large-scale mural work. A graduate of Işık University’s Graphic Arts and Design program, he is also a member of the International Association of Art (IAA/UNESCO) / Turkish Committee UPSD.

Following his debut solo exhibition, Homo Homini Lupus (2024, Istanbul), Beklan fully dedicated his career to fine art painting. His work explores human psychology, social structures, environmental consciousness, and abstract thought, while the technical knowledge he developed across multiple visual disciplines continues to shape and strengthen his artistic language. He views this multidisciplinary background not only as a foundation for artistic production, but also as a powerful means of contributing to socially engaged and culturally meaningful projects.

Alongside his artistic practice, Beklan conducts independent personal research into the psychotherapeutic potential of art, focusing on the relationship between visual expression, healing, and human experience.

Beginning on June 10, 2026, he embarked on a five-month cultural, artistic, and sociological journey in Bali, aiming to deepen his perspective on cultural interconnectedness, environmental awareness, and the evolving relationship between humanity and society.

Beklan Murat currently continues his artistic practice in his studio in Teşvikiye, Istanbul.
